Amanda M. James maintains a general civil litigation practice with a focus on family, estate, personal injury and general civil disputes.
She has experience dealing with a variety of civil disputes and has appeared as counsel in every level of court in British Columbia representing and advising clients on a range of family, estate, injury claims and general civil disputes.
She obtained her law degree from Thompson Rivers University as a member of the inaugural class. While at TRU, she represented TRU at the Wilson Moot, a national advocacy competition involving the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and served as the class representative for the Society of Law Students. She joined Apna Law LLP in 2022. Prior to doing so, she practiced at a firm specializing in complex family, estate and injury claims where she also completed a mixed articling term, splitting her time between a biotech firm in Vancouver – focusing on corporate governance and securities – and a small personal injury firm. She obtained her B.A from the University of British Columbia in 2010.
Amanda also currently serves as the financial adviser to Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and spends her free time on the mountain in fresh powder or on the softball diamond.
